Con or Bust fundraiser!
Every year, the Carl Brandon Society - a group whose mission is to promote ethnic diversity in speculative fiction through community building, scholarships and other projects - organizes Con or Bust, a fundraiser to provide assistance to people of color who cannot afford to to attend sci-fi and fantasy conventions like WisCon. This year’s auction has some really exciting items, such as:
- a signed, first edition hardcover copy of Huntress by Malinda Lo + one of a kind, hand-made chapbook she will create of her story The Fox
- 12 different Indian comics and graphic novels, some signed by the creators
- a book contract consultation from a publishing company contracts manager
- a set of four signed fantasy art prints by Terri Windling of Endicott Studio, like the below:
- tons of other new and used sci-fi and fantasy books, comics, collectibles, services, etc
Bidding is open through Sunday, February 26, 11:59PM EST. Visit here for more information about the fundraiser, and check out this Google doc for a list of items available on auction. And of course, spread the word and help a someone have a remarkable experience that they otherwise couldn’t afford!
